A real fair hunt in wide open spaces

The hunting farm which is registered with the NTB (NAMIBIA TOURISM BOARD, TPH 00189), is situated 400 km north west of Windhoek in the district of Outjo with 7.600 Hectares - it is a private, open property, 1.200 m above sea level. Hunting on about 20.000 hectares concession areas.
Wei are member of the ETOSHA CONSERVANCY with approx. 400.000 ha as well as a member of the NAPHA!

Conditions of Ongue-Hunting

HUNTING TIME:
1. February - 30. November

Minimum hunting time is 7 days, Leopard and cheetah at least 12 days together with antelopes.

GUIDANCE:
Heinz Kossmann, master hunting guide and member of Napha and SCI as well as cattle farmer, is guiding you personally. Mr. Kossmann is the farm owner. Hunting is either stalking and/or high stand.

DAILY RATES 2012:
1 Hunter 300,- US$
2 Hunters, each 250,- US$
1 Non-Hunter 100,- US$

These rates include:
  • Full board
  • Non alcoholic drinks
  • Laundry service
  • Guiding with 4x4
  • Hunting guide with tracker
  • Field (raw)preparation of trophies and hides

The following is excluded:
  • Air tickets
  • Trophy fees
  • Packing and expedition of trophies
  • Hunting permit and insurance (50,-US$ per hunter)
  • Transfer for up to 4 persons from Windhoek International Airport to the farm and back (500,-US$)
  • Transfer to concessions: 100,-US$
  • Accommodation before and after your safari

The conduct of a gun in the hunting area with or without success will be considered as hunting day.

All wounded game which cannot be found despite intensive search must be paid.

HUNTING OUTFIT:
It is very important to be well acquainted with your gun.
Ongue Hunting recommends you for your hunt in Namibia the following calibres:
  • Small game as Steenbok and Springbok: calibre 270, 243.
  • For bigger game as Kudu, Eland, Oryx etc. calibre 7x64, .3006, 300WM, 375 H&H, 8x68, 9,3x62 and 9,3x64.
AMMUNITION:
Between 30 and 40 shot per hunter.
You should not forget: telescope, hunting knife, camera, hat, sunglasses and suncream.

CLOTHES:
Light cotton shirts and long trousers, bush jackets in khaki, green or brown as well as good shoes with light rubber sole.
Warm clothes like an anorak or parka is necessary during the month's of June, July and August. During theses winter months the temperature could sink under the freezing-point.

DOCUMENTATIONS:
You need a valid passport and a gun licence.

INSURANCE:
We recommend to take out a luggage, accident and travel cancellation insurance. We cannot be held liable for any losses, accidents and injuries etc.

BOOKINGS:
Direct with ONGUE-HUNTING by mail: ongue@iway.na, or by phone.

The booking is valid with a deposit of 1.000,-USD on our account. Balance has to be paid cash or traveller cheques on the farm at the end of the hunt.

CANCELLATION:
In case of cancellation we only replace deposit if another hunter will be booked by you.
Less than 30 days - no refund.

ACCOMMODATION:
Lodge in African style with 2 separate rooms with shower/toilet. On a big open veranda you can relax and enjoy your sundowner.

BOARD:
Let us spoil you with the specials of the country and the traditional German cooking.

SIGHTSEEING / PHOTOSAFARIS:
We can arrange for sightseeing tours in a 4x4 to the near by Etosha Pan, Vingerklip and Petrified Forest (Coast and desert on arrangement)
